What Is Happening?

The Hewlett-Packard company produced a series of notebook computers that were destined for catostraphic failure within just two years of purchase, well short of consumer expectations.

Victims of this problem, in numerous countries, believed they were purchasing a device made of reasonable quality that was free of internal defects.  But, in short, these consumers were "ripped off".

The company has taken no visible action to adequately make whole victims of this problem.

How Did This Happen?

HP utilized an Nvidia Chipset that was later determined to be defective due to overheating.  Nvidia ackknowledges the catastrophic defect and has apologized.  Although there were rumours of a recall initiated by Nvidia, no such recall has actually taken place.  The faulty Nvidia chipset can be found in other manufacturer laptop systems, such as Dell.
